<p>Following her graduation from medical school, Dr. Bartholomew happened to use a paint mixing</p>
<p>machine in a hardware store to custom-mix paint colors for her new home. It occurred to her that</p>
<p>more sophisticated, but similar technology could be developed to custom mix cosmetics so women</p>
<p>could have precisely the attributes—color, shimmer, scent, taste, etc.—they wished to have. Dr.</p>
<p>Bartholomew realized that such a technology would allow women greatly expanded choice,</p>
<p>personal freedom and creativity in selecting and wearing cosmetics.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dr. Bartholomew also realized that such a technology, by enabling women to</p>
<p>make their own, unique cosmetics, would form the foundation of a very powerful brand that would</p>
<p>stand for the empowerment and self-expression of the individual woman.</p>
